Wow its been awhile!

I just realized that I haven't written since February! Things do pile up though, lets see whats been new with me..... Well I recently graduated from high school, started a new obsession on the Japanese Culture, am now learning French, and also got a job as a Firearms inspector. Between all those things I have been rather busy, I suppose I should be able to occasionally post something random now and again. And seeing as this isn't all that interesting of a post by it's self, I shall now include a  random piece of music that I find a rather interesting, for some reason it reminds me of Doctor Who

Manners, Culture and Dress of the Best American Society

One of my strange interests include old time etiquette, and this one I find very interesting. I am concocting at this moment some devious ideas of a ball (oh wait its only ball if you have at least a hundred couples, anything less is just a dance) I mean dance according to these social rules, it would be quite interesting! Anyway we shall see, if you want to check out this delightful book of Manners, Culture and Dress of the Best American Society free on Google e-books. Quite the interesting read if I may have an opinion.
Also since I don't have anything else to talk about here is my latest find for music, it called I am stretched out on your grave, a nice cheery little ditty as you can tell by the title. Following true to my taste of depressing music and fondness for Irish ballads. So I present for your entertainment

Gymnopedie No.1 - Childhood memories

I have probably heard this song from since I was around four years old (a least that is the first time I remember hearing it.) I would hear it on the EWTN radio station when they would have technical difficulties they would play this song. I remember that I always wanted to know what song it was and if I could learn it on the piano, I would as my mama but she didn't know the name. So yesterday I was listening to my Ralph Vaughan Williams station (he's one of my favorite composers!) and this song comes up. I listened to it and I have this vague recognition, that I've heard this somewhere before..... it was so familiar, but I was sure I hadn't heard it for years. Then I remembered and now I can't stop listening to it! So now I have a new song to learn on the piano (as I finished Where is my Mind awhile ago) If you like to learn it as well here is the Gymnopedie Sheet Music. It's always nice to have soothing music playing while you're panicking to finish mid-term exams! Speaking of which, I should probably get back to....

Lately I have had a lot of Algebra homework, and I often listen to songs while doing that. Anyway, I am thoroughly sick of my usual favorites (all of which are rather melancholy songs, and are not the best thing to being listening to while doing dreary math), I have rediscovered this classic. It one of the songs that you hear all over the place,(not to mention a certain silly dog movie, which shall remain nameless) Still is great song to listen to, and even better to dance to!



Maxence Cyrin ~ Where is my mind?

As my family will tell you, I have an interest in more melancholy songs, such as this one. I am trying to learn this one on the piano, which means that I really like this song because usually I do not learn things on the piano (so far there has only been two songs that I have bothered to learn) since I have never had any lessons, but since I can read notes somewhat and also have a pretty good ear for just picking things up. Fantasia on Greensleeves

Came upon this piece of music accidentally, and I thought it was Christmas music, well it is sort of. It came before the well known What Child is this? I have always thought it was just a Christmas song, but actually it was first a folk song that came from England. No one really knows who wrote it or what the words are referring to. Some people think that King Henry VIII wrote it to Anne Boleyn, of course there is nothing to suggest this, other then it is from around the same time.
